Who Framed Calvin School?

Happy Friday, hammerheads!

Little known fact on a Friday: The classic film Who Framed Roger Rabbit was originally intended as a much bloodier affair and was to star fresh-faced young up-and-comer Calvin School in the title role.































However, after only a single day of filming Calvin was arrested outside of The Viper Room after a scuffle with Gary Coleman. School was brought up on aggravated assault and weapons charges and the role was recast with clownish funnybunny Roger Rabbit.

Ironically, twenty years later, it's Roger who languishes in the big house pending appeal of his conviction for the murder of Captain Carrot who had a well-publicized affair with Jessica Rabbit in the late 90s.

Calvin School's current whereabouts are unknown.

Good Monday, Hammerheads!

Hope ya'll had a dandy weekend. Happy to report progess being made here at Hamtown Central. The script for our bunny epic is now complete and in the bag. Pencils are nearing completion and inking is well underway.

But that dang colorist of ours keeps wasting time doodling!























Nah, just kidding. The above piece was done for a MySpace bulletin as part of our multi-faceted media assault for The Hammer. We'll post a few more of these in the days to come to keep your appetite whetted for upcoming bunny carnage.

Monday morning coming down

Wow! Still decompressing from the suspense and elation of Friday. Have we said thank you enough yet? It doesn't seem like it. So thanks again, Hammerphiles for all the love and support. You've made Hamtown the happiest place on earth.

Our good friend Paul Housley, aka Illinest, gifted us with a congratulatory Hammersketch. We laid a little color on it and present it to you here:
